Meet Red Auerbach

Coach Auerbach is the dedication recipient of the novel, not only for his impact on the team but also for the league overall. Red's presence on the team was infinitely crucial to the overall successes, and in that spirit, he is a significant part of the story we present. Born in Brooklyn, NY in September 1917, Red was passionate about the sport for nearly his entire life. From standout youth performances, elite high school drives, and college successes, Red served on many teams and in many capacities. As you will come to experience through the story, Red is a passionate lover of basketball and has devoted his career and life to furthering its progression into modern society. A full tribute, biography and dedication is within the opening section of Rise and Reign.

The primary focus of the novel is the story of the Boston Celtics, rising from a low-level team starting out in the 1960's to the all-time greats that they are today. However, some information and analysis on other teams and the league overall are included. Overall, if you love basketball, you will love this story.

Is the novel endorsed by the Boston Celtics?

Understandably, the Celtics do not endorse any particular works, therefore the novel is not endorsed by the Celtics. However, we have their support in writing the book and have been grateful to consult with some individuals there to learn more about the history of the team.

How long is the book? What ages is it suggested for?

The book is approximately 100 pages, plus approximately 20 pages of pre-and-post content. This book is a positive story for all ages, however we recommend ages 10+ for any individual reading comprehension. Most of the text is designed to be simple in nature, and profanity is extremely limited.

Ok, I like the story. But how much is the book?

The book is offered in both physical and digital formats. The release price for the novel is $20.95 USD for the paperback, $32.95 USD for the hardcover, and $13.75 USD for the digital version. However, individual retailers set their own prices and they may vary slightly.

Where can I buy the book?

Yes, the author and publication staff have set aside a certain amount of copies per sales period for complimentary usage. Priority for this program goes to teachers interested in using the novel in class, as well as employees of Banner Seventeen, INC (dba. Boston Celtics). We will also consider free copies for other interested parties as available, and you can use this link to apply. 

Will there be a book tour?
